Research:
As part of the research phase of the Children's Discovery Center, the Miami University students were asked to conduct a series of case studies, precedent studies, and site visits. They also studied child development and the Ohio Revised Science Standards and Model Curriculum.
To gain first hand experience working with children and seeing how they learn and interact with their surroundings, the students participated in an afterschool program working with the Third through eighth grade students from St. Francis Seraph School in Over-the-Rhine. The program was an overwhelming success ending in a Miami University visit for the elementary school students pictured above where they had the opportunity to see the studios and work with the Architecture + Interior Design students in studio.
